A Deep Dive Into the Animaker Software
Anytime you are talking about a piece of software that has more than 7 million users in 190+ countries around the world you’re talking about a pretty popular piece of technology.
Animaker has become a revelation in the “drag-and-drop” animation software world, completely upending the status quo and delivering professional and studio-grade innovation solutions in a super simple and straightforward package.
No longer do you have to be a digital artist to create incredible animations on the computer.
Animaker allows you to create quick movies, infographics, animated presentations, and so much more all with point-and-click capabilities – and one of the largest animation resource libraries (100% free of charge and with no royalties attached) in the business, too.
Animating with Animaker really does feel like magic!
To learn a little bit more about everything that this cloud-based software brings to the table, check out the rest of our Animaker review below.
Who’s It For?
As we mentioned a moment ago, Animaker is very much a DIY animation software solution designed for non-graphic designers and artists to take advantage of.
Instead of having to spend a small fortune on graphic designers to build quick animations for you (or, worse, having to spend weeks if not months learning the basics of animation yourself) you are now able to produce professional-grade animations thanks to these powerful tools.
100% web-based (which means you don’t have to install any software to use Animaker, either), anyone that wants to create a quick animation, a quick project, or a quick presentation will be able to do so from all of their internet-enabled devices.
Yes, that means you’re going to be able to create amazing animations on your laptop or your desktop.
But it also means you’re going to be able to create amazing animations on your tablet, your phone, and any of your other mobile devices as long as you have an active internet connection.
Talk about versatility!
The learning curve to use this software is super straightforward, too – but we get a little bit more in-depth on that in just a minute.
Just know that absolutely everything about this software has been built from the ground up to make it as easy to use and as accessible as possible, all without handicapping your capabilities.
To put it bluntly, as long as you are comfortable sending emails or using Microsoft Word you should feel comfortable making professional-grade animated projects with Animaker.
At the same time, professionals that do know their way around the world of digital animation should still be able to make a lot of use of these tools as well.
If you’re looking to quickly prototype a project, need to put something together on a deadline, or want to experiment with different tools to see what kinds of results you can come up with you’ll want to check out the Animaker suite of online services, too.
When you get right down to it, Animaker really is one of the first digital animation services built for everyone!
What We Like About Animaker
There are a lot of huge advantages you’ll be able to leverage when you use the Animaker platform, but we highlight some of the most important standout features that separate Animaker from the rest of the pack below.
Easy to Use
Right out of the gate you’ll notice that Animaker is about as easy to use as it gets.
This is not a difficult software to master. The results you get look like they were cooked up by digital artists that have years of animating under their belt.
Truly “drag and drop”, you’re going to be able to play with a bunch of different assets, a bunch of different animations, and a bunch of other resources to come up with animated projects that look and behave just the way you want them to – all without having to write a bit of code or fiddle around with physically animating things, either.
No, instead you get to drag and drop different things around, play with different assets until you get the look you are after, and then export everything (almost instantly) for use anywhere you like.
It doesn’t get a whole lot better than that.
You won’t have to worry about feeling overwhelmed even if you are brand-new to the world of digital animation. Animaker is super easy to get the hang of.
Another reason there are more than 7 million people taking advantage of this tool all over the world today is because of how adaptive it is.
There really is no limitation to the kinds of projects you can tackle with Animaker.
Whether you’re looking to create animated digital commercials to build and grow your business, animated presentations to share with your team, or animated projects to fulfill creative goals or scratch artistic itches, Animaker has the right solutions for you to make that possible.
The adaptability of this set up is absolutely off the charts.
A lot of times, especially when you have really easy to use pieces of software, the truly creative people using it feel a little bit handcuffed.
After all, easy-to-use software solutions almost always mean that your creative choices are limited with how you use the platform.
Nothing could be further from the truth here.
Instead of having limitations that you have to struggle with you’ll instead find that the Animaker platform sets you up for success like maybe no other digital animation platform does.
This all circles back to the adaptability of Animaker and how much control and the creative freedom it provides you every step of the way.
You’ll have what is essentially a digital blank canvas to fool around with and all the tools you need (as well as a mountain of digital assets and resources to play with) to make something really special.
There’s no limit to what you can create with Animaker.
Lots of Free Resources
Speaking of digital assets and resources to play with, Animaker really sets you up for success in a big way by providing you with one of the deepest libraries of animation assets of any software – and makes all of them available 100% free of charge.
This is game-changing.
Instead of having to spend a lot of cash on digital assets that may never get used more than once, you’ll instead be able to go back to the well time and time again and use any of the digital assets provided by Animaker as often as you like.
You’ll be able to use these assets in commercial and noncommercial applications, all without having to pay royalties as well.
That’s a totally different arrangement than what most digital animation software and services old you too.
Even better news than that, though, is that Animaker constantly adds new animations, new digital assets, and creatives for you to play around with a truly free resource library.
The resource library as it sits today is almost jam-packed with assets but more are constantly added to the mix. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect this resource library to double (or more) in just the next year or two.
That’s how serious the folks behind Animaker are about making sure that you’re able to really play around in this animation sandbox.
There’s not an Animaker review out there that doesn’t mention the amount of amazing free resources you get to use when you take advantage of this platform. That’s because it’s such a big deal!
Smart Audio Implementation
Being able to add the right audio elements to your animation projects can add life and energy that would have otherwise been significantly lacking.
Animaker also provides you with the opportunity to add your own narration, your own voiceover elements, and your own background music as well as sound effects anywhere throughout your project that you’d like to.
On top of that, you’ll also be able to browse the full Animaker library of 100% royalty-free music that you can use in any of your projects. There is also a holder of paid music/audio resources that you can take advantage of as well, but you still won’t have to worry about paying royalties on those elements, either.
Dragging and dropping music and audio into your project is as easy as adding any other elements to the mix.
The upload or record voice buttons allow you to add your own components, or you can sync things up using the animation builder.
At the end of the day (just like everything else) adding audio elements is really straightforward with Animaker!
Exporting your entire project out is a huge piece of the puzzle, as it’s the only way you are actually going to be able to share what you have built inside of Animaker, to begin with.
Once again, this is a really easy and intuitive set of procedures.
For starters, you just have to click on the little gear icon at the top right-hand section of the Animaker interface.
From there you will be given an opportunity to export your project in a variety of different ways, choosing to either publish your animation directly to platforms like Facebook or YouTube.
You’ll also have an opportunity to download your animation as a video file in a couple of different formats, with the chance to download it in standard definition or high-definition (depending on the Animaker plan that you have signed up for).
All in all, this easy export process makes working with Animaker about as effortless as can be.
You don’t have to jump through a lot of hoops to get your project finalized. You don’t have to worry about download limits or being locked into a handful of specific file types, either.
You are always in control of how your Animaker project unfolds. There aren’t a lot of other platforms out there that make it easy to hit the ground running the way that Animaker does.
Of course, if you want to open up even more flexibility and even more control over your animation projects with Animaker you’ll want to sign up for one of their inexpensive plan options.
Some plans open up even more resources for you to add to your projects, all of them 100% royalty-free (no surprise there).
Other plans add those resources while also giving you a little more creative freedom control, giving you more animations, more sound elements, and the ability to download or export your files in even more configurations – as well as in stunning high definition.
All in all, it’s not going to be hard for you to find an Animaker plan that meets your needs and your budget.
The free plan is there for everyone – it is guaranteed to be free forever, too – but the inexpensive month-to-month plans are well worth a closer look at, especially if you are going to be using Animaker to build assets for your business going forward.
The ability to download and export in high definition (and to unlock even more creative freedom) is a huge advantage for power users that really want to implement the Animaker toolset into their overall workflow.
Finally, we really have to mention just how incredible the support from Animaker really is.
Their technical support team just might be the best in the business, and we don’t just mean for the world of animation software, either.
Not only is support available on a 24/7 basis, but it’s also available in a variety of different channels – all of which make getting a hold of professionals that can actually help you about as simple and as straightforward as actually using Animaker is.
On top of that, there are a whole host of knowledge-based resources that you can pull from and leverage to learn about using everything Animaker offers at your own pace.
The world of animation is rich and varied and making the most of all these animation tools can feel daunting at times.
With the help of these tutorials, ranging from basic skills to more advanced creative projects and everything in between, you’ll be able to master all of the nuances and power of the Animaker platform without much issue.
Add in the sheer amount of templates available to take advantage of, the amount of technical support you’ll find in the member forum, and the easy ability to reach out to experts whenever you have a specific question you can’t find anywhere else and moving forward with Animaker becomes a no-brainer.
What We Don’t Like About Animaker
A bunch of reasons to move forward with the Animaker platform (and it’s not hard to find glowingly positive Animaker reviews out there, either), this isn’t to suggest that the Animaker platform is 100% perfect or without flaws.
There are definitely a handful of things that you need to be aware of that might not drive you wild when it comes to Animaker. We breakdown some of the most important ones to know about below.
Lacking an Autosave Feature
For starters, the lack of autosave technology on free plans with Animaker is almost unforgivable.
The last thing anyone wants to worry about is having their animation phrase, lockup, or their internet connection disconnect for one reason or another and lose all of their progress – sometimes hours and hours of work.
Sadly, this can happen a lot if you are working exclusively on a 100% free plan from Animaker and do not regularly (and manually) save your work throughout the project.
We know that the autosave capabilities are sort of “held back” to encourage people to pay for a premium plan. But we really would like to see Animaker add those capabilities to every level of plan – including the free plan – to make the animation process a lot less stressful.
At the same time, it’s unlikely that this adjustment is going to happen anytime soon.
In the meantime, just make sure that you are manually saving your work on a regular basis to avoid losing it through absolutely no fault of your own.
Frequent Freezes on Large Projects
Because Animaker is 100% cloud-based it has a tendency to “freeze” every now and again, particularly when you are working on larger projects.
Most of the time these freezes are only going to last a millisecond or two and amount to minor annoyances. They just kind of get in the way, slow you down from moving along through your animation project smoothly, and stress people out.
Unfortunately, sometimes these issues are a lot longer lasting induration and may even lockup your animation project completely – throwing a real wrench into things, particularly if you haven’t manually saved recently.
Truth be told, the freezing problems are probably the most common issue brought up in Animaker reviews online today.
People hate when software doesn’t behave the way they are expecting it to, the way it is designed to, and the way that we all want it to.
Freezes can really slow down an otherwise efficient workflow. Even worse freezes can lock you up and lock you out of all of your progress, ruining your work and causing you to start from scratch.
Nobody wants to have to worry about that but it’s a reality of using the Animaker platform (even if you are a paid or premium member).
Cluttered Resource Library
The last issue that we want to touch on is one that isn’t really all that big of a deal and sort of feels like a “first world” problem if we are being totally honest.
The fact that there are so many resources and assets to use in the Animaker platform means that there are a lot of assets to go through in order to find the ones that you want to use at any one particular point in time.
All of this means that the actual resource library in the backend of Animaker is a bit more cluttered than most people expect. It’s usually going to take you a little bit of time and a little bit of effort to navigate through to the assets you want to use, especially if your animation is going to be more resource-intensive.
We will say that Animaker has taken great steps to remedy this issue in the last few years.
They have certainly overhauled their search capabilities and have gone to great lengths to clean things up a little bit. It’s just that they continue to add so many new resources all the time that things get cluttered all over again in a hurry.
There are worse problems to have than access to almost unlimited free resources, though. That’s for sure.
- Lots of free resources, with more being added all the time
- Very easy to master the learning curve, almost drag-and-drop
- Some of the best support in the business
- Very adaptive to all kinds of projects
- Easy to export your work in a couple of different formats
- Tight audio integration
- Lack of autosave is really noticeable
- Frequent freezes can stall or ruin the progress
- A cluttered resource library can get tough to navigate
When you sign up for an Animaker plan (whether that be a free or premium plan, it makes no difference) you immediately gain access to the entirety of the Animaker system.
Your account allows you to take advantage of the 100% cloud-based animation tools, using any of them (or every one of them) to create the animated projects of your dreams.
You gain access to resource editors, asset creators, and the entirety of the resource library – though some elements do require you to spend a bit of money to unlock them.
On top of that, you also gain access to 100% free customer service and technical support available on a 24/7 basis.
As we highlighted earlier, this support is some of the best in the business.
They really know how to take care of their customers at Animaker, guiding them through the entirety of their toolset so that their customers can make a great project – but also making sure that their customers are taking care of billing issues or other administrative hiccups, too.
All in all, when you sign up for the Animaker platform you get the whole enchilada.
Everything you need to create great animated projects, publish them online, or download them in standard definition or high-definition becomes available to you the moment that your account goes live.
Overview Of Features

- Smart, cloud-based application works on all kinds of devices

At the end of the day, if you’re serious about creating great animated projects you’re going to need to use powerful tools to help you out.
There is certainly no shortage of options to pick and choose from on the market today, either.
A lot of really impressive technology companies (some of the most influential technology companies in the world, even) offer super-powered animation tools specifically for digital artists, marketers, and small business owners and operators.
Unlike Animaker, though, the overwhelming majority of those tools take forever to learn, are clunky and difficult to utilize, and require powerful hardware to run smoothly and efficiently.
None of those issues are going to be a problem when you choose to take advantage of the Animaker platform.
No, instead you get one of the most capable suites of digital animation tools ever created – and you can even start using them without spending a penny, all on all of your favorite devices as well.
This cloud-based solution gives you the total creative freedom to play around with different assets, toolsets, templates, and presets in a way that few other solutions can.
The huge resource library also provides you with a bunch of royalty-free assets that you can use straight out of the box (figuratively speaking, of course) to make your digital animation dreams come true. Audio resources can be added – including audio that you record yourself – to bring these animations to life.
Yes, there are a few shortcomings in using the Animaker platform.
The lack of a dedicated autosave feature is a huge issue that should be addressed in the future, and the performance issues that cause freezing across the board really need to be remedied ASAP.
But when you get right down to it, there really isn’t a more complete set of digital animation tools available – especially at this price point (including a free package) – that can come anywhere close to what Animaker makes possible.
If you’re ready to create stunningly beautiful, HD ready, and super smooth, creative animations without having to be a full-blown digital artist yourself that you want to take a closer look at the Animaker tools right now.
Just don’t be surprised if you find yourself writing your very own glowingly positive Animaker review after you finish your first project!
